THE ROLE
As we expand our brand, launch new products and look at international opportunities, we’re looking for a commercially-savvy, part-time Finance Director to guide us through the next chapter. You’ll work directly with the founders and oversee our growing financial operations – with the support of our in-house Finance Controller and Bookkeeper.
Your job? Help us manage the dough (the money kind), implement smart financial controls, and shape a clear, forward-thinking finance strategy. You'll bring the vision and insight to drive growth, deliver meaningful analysis to support key decisions, and oversee accurate forecasting and budget management. From spotting savings opportunities to ensuring rock-solid compliance, you’ll keep our numbers aligned with our sweet strategic goals — and help us rise to the next level.
KEY INGREDIENTS (RESPONSIBILITIES)
Direct financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
Analyse and report monthly performance, working with our Finance Controller and Bookkeeper
Lead quarterly finance updates and join our leadership planning sessions
Track cash flow and monitor spend across multiple venues
Oversee investor engagement and fundraising strategies where applicable
Complete and file year-end accounts, CT600, VAT returns, and US entity support
Drive margin optimisation and cost-efficiency improvements
Provide commercial advice on leases, site selection, and expansion strategy
Ensure compliance with financial regulations in both the UK and US
Prepare The Big Bakes for financial audit and lead this when qualifying criteria is met.
Identify risks and make data-led recommendations for action
Guide Directors on investments, growth planning, and operational cost control
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:
ACA / ACCA qualified with a solid track record (8+ years)
Experience with multi-site businesses – hospitality or events is a bonus
Familiarity with UK and US tax/reporting
Highly proficient with Xero, Excel and financial modelling tools
A strong communicator who can turn numbers into strategy
Confident advising senior stakeholders and founders directly
Able to balance the books and the bigger picture
Available for ~10–15 hours/month with flexibility
Happy to attend ad hoc in-person meetings in London when needed
