THE ROLE: 

 

We are looking for a General Manager who is operationally focused, forward thinking and genuinely cares about customer and team experience. You will be a self starter and someone who loves events and knows what it takes to make a venue that little bit extra special and successful, this might just just be a dream roll (pun intended).
 
Key responsibilities of the role include overall operational management and running of The Big London Bake, its staff and performance. You will drive the two London locations forward both in terms of reputation and growth, bringing creative ideas to our sites and working with our marketing and sales teams to run special events and make our locations the best events London has to offer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

OPERATIONS

  • Lead the day to day operations of The Big London Bake South and East London venue

  • Lead and manage supplier relationships, ordering, stock and budget control

  • Manage staff schedules and operations in accordance to bookings and staff leave requests

  • Take ownership of the smooth running of the site and bar 

  • Implement new ideas, sales opportunities and promotional activity to help streamline the running of the sites 

  • Conduct and be responsible for health and safety checks, risk assessments and tasks

  • Ensure a 5 star food hygiene standard is adhered to and administered

  • Provide reports, event feedback to business owners

TEAMS

  • Lead and manage a team of bakers and assistants that support the daily running of the event

  • Conduct reviews, disciplinaries and set targets for staff 

  • Be responsible for organising training including periodic training refreshers, checks and ensuring all documentation is up to date 

  • Ensuring and lead a positive work environment 

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Be responsible for ensuring The Big Bakes 5 star reputation is maintained

  • Be accountable for meeting monthly customer review targets 

  • Collate customer feedback and reporting to central team

  • Manage customer resolution when necessary

 

PROFITABILITY:

  • Responsible for monthly sales and bar revenue targets 

  • Financial reporting on monthly site running costs and budgeting

  • Manage a strict cost control budget and implement effective stock control processes and ordering systems

SALARY:

 

Full time - Circa £35000 p/a 
Attractive bonus scheme based on site performance
5 days a week - in accordance to bookings 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Event/Restaurant/Hotel or Hospitality Management experience essential 
Evidence of leadership,  managerial and organizational experience
Strong background in customer service and events
