JOB SUMMARY:

The Big Bakes is hiring a talented and driven Marketing & PR Manager to whisk up and roll out our future marketing and develop new opportunities for our growing business. If you worked in marketing and have always just wanted a single brand to grow and celebrate its success alongside your own, we may be the perfect and sweetest place to be. 

 

Our marketing is there to inspire bakers, excite and entertain our customers whilst continuing to position The Big Bakes as the Home of Baking. Success in the role will be defined through an excellent long term strategy, considered monthly metrics, growth of our social and direct channels, continuing evolution of our brand and successfully bringing customers to our award winning venues. You’ll be someone that loves being hands on and champions delivery, quick thinking and trying things out. 

 

You’ll already see the value in multi channel marketing, and pulling together a quick snapchat, or tiktock reel will be run of the mill to you. From rich video, excellent copy, snappy emails and great design, you’ll understand the value of maintaining brand values and connecting with an authentic brand tone and style. We want to be able to deliver viral videos when the opportunity strikes alongside regular and engaging content. You’ll be able to assess our channels and spot the gaps and opportunities. 

 

The role will oversee all of our marketing efforts and encompass long term strategic thinking alongside day to day content creation and management. This will entail reviewing and enhancing our brand guidelines, creating regular engaging content, managing a content calendar, managing current and future partnerships, working on Facebook ads manager, Google Ads, as well as developing new advertising strategies. You will also closely look at the lifecycle of our customer journey and design marketing that enhances the customers experience through both digital and physical marketing, exploring loyalty, up-selling and driving reviews. You will also work closely with our team on launching new products to help grow our business. 

 

As we launch new sites around the UK, you will also have the chance to work on our launches, which bring excitement and baking joy to the locations we choose. 

 

You will also have a Social Media apprentice in your team to help deliver our marketing efforts and we have inhouse design expertise for high quality material development. 

KEY TASKS:

  • Evolving and developing our brand strategy

  • Creating and managing our content calendar

  • Managing all above and below the line campaigns

  • Managing an annual budget

  • Managing content creation

  • Setting up a life cycle marketing strategy including customer journey and loyalty

  • Managing our key marketing channels including mailchimp, google ads, facebook paid advertising, digital   marketing  

  • Managing and growing our social media presence

  • Management and development of Influencer Relationships

  • Managing our physical marketing for our baking locations

  • Working alongside our team on new product development

  • Reporting marketing effectiveness

  • Managing partnerships and sponsorships

  • Managing marketing for new site launches

  • Contacting press to provide a regular flow of reviews and press presence 

  • Reporting to the business owners on campaign successes and areas to improve

  • Managing bespoke events, press launches and partner/charity events 

 

HIGHLIGHT OF PREFERABLE SKILLS & QUALITIES:

 

  • Brand Management

  • Good understanding of design principles

  • Highly organised

  • Excellent eye for photography 

  • Excellent knowledge of effective advertising styles

  • Advertising software experience or awareness in - Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Ads, Adobe Suites, Mailchimp etc

  • Good knowledge of video delivery

  • Strong strategic outlook

  • Strong social media experience

£34,500 (4 days per week also available at £28,500)

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • BA degree - 3-5 years experience in marketing, PR, immersive events or similar. 

  • Excellent organisational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting - Strong proficiency in Google Suite, marketing & editing software and analysis tools. 

  • Proficient in learning new software and excellent design knowledge/skills

  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal - 

  • Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and customers in a clear concise manner 

  • Ability to come up with new, actionable ideas and communicate these to owners and founders coherently . 

  • Strong starter - finisher mentality, taking tasks from inception to completion

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit
