Mystery Baker Programme – Terms & Conditions
By applying to become a Big Bakes Mystery Baker, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before submitting your application.
1. The "Undercover Pool"
Application: Submission of an application does not guarantee selection.
The Roster: Successful applicants will be added to our "Undercover Pool." This is a database of bakers we can call upon when mystery shopping opportunities become available at our 5 national sites (London South and East, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool).
No Guarantee: Being in the pool does not guarantee a minimum number of assignments. Opportunities are offered on an ad-hoc basis based on our quality control schedule.
Not for Everyone: This programme is strictly closed to employees of The Big Bakes, their immediate families, and any persons living in the same household or otherwise professionally or personally connected to the company.
2. The Assignment (The Mission)
Confidentiality: This is a "blind" audit. You must not reveal your identity as a Mystery Baker to any staff members or other guests before, during, or after the session (unless explicitly instructed by Big Bakes HQ).
Booking: If selected for a specific mission, you will be given instructions on how to book your slot. You may be required to pay upfront and be reimbursed, or provided with a unique booking code.
Conduct: You are expected to behave as a regular guest. Any disruptive or unprofessional behaviour will result in immediate removal from the programme.
3. Feedback & Reporting
The Report: To receive your reward/reimbursement, you must complete the Mystery Baker Feedback Form in full.
Deadlines: Feedback must be submitted within 24 hours of your session while the details are fresh. Failure to submit within this window may result in the forfeiture of your reward.
Honesty: We value "the crumbs and the wins." Feedback must be honest, constructive, and based solely on your specific experience.
4. Rewards & Expenses
Payment: Mystery Bakers are not employees of Big Bakes. This is a voluntary programme.
Reimbursement: Typically, the reward for a completed mission is a full refund of your ticket price or a voucher for a future bake. Specific rewards will be confirmed via email when an assignment is offered.
Travel: Big Bakes does not cover travel, parking, or incidental expenses unless explicitly stated in writing.
5. Intellectual Property & Privacy
Content: Any photos, videos, or written feedback submitted as part of your report become the property of Big Bakes and may be used for internal training or (anonymised) marketing purposes.
Data: Your personal details will be stored securely in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will only be used to contact you regarding Mystery Baker opportunities.
6. Termination
Big Bakes reserves the right to remove any individual from the Mystery Baker Pool at any time, without notice, if these terms are breached or if the quality of feedback does not meet our requirements.
