All-Purpose American Buttercream
Simple and straightforward, the perfect easy frosting for cakes or cupcakes.

(Mix) Time: 15mins
Total Time: 25mins
Specialty Equipment: Stand mixer preferably or a hand mixer.
250g unsalted butter
500g icing sugar
½ tbsp vanilla
¼ tsp salt
1 tbsp cream - single or double
Add softened butter to stand mixer with the paddle attachment, and mix for 5mins on high-speed.
Once Butter is fluffy and pale, add all the Icing Sugar and mix on lowest speed for 5mins. Use a spatula to scrape down the bowl, then mix again on medium speed for 5mins.
Finally add the Cream, Salt and Vanilla, mix until well combined.
Tips and Tricks:
Mix on lowest speed for 10 mins after the final step for super smooth silky buttercream.
