5 days a week (37.5 hours)

full time, hybrid office and home (variable hours, occasionally depending on events). 3 days in office, 2 days at home.

The Big Bakes is a multi award -winning entertainment business that runs incredible immersive baking experiences throughout the year in three locations: The Big London Bake South (Tooting) The Big London Bake East (Haggerston) and The Big Birmingham Bake (Digbeth), with more locations opening on the horizon. 

 

Our inclusive, accessible, and light-hearted events cater to all levels of experience and we bake a new fun theme every month, which we reveal via social media throughout the year. We’re at the forefront of the rapidly growing competitive socialising industry and we have something for everyone, whether you are a keen baker or can’t cook an egg, everyone’s welcome. 

 

Once you step through our (fridge!) doors, you are immersed into a slice of baking heaven, with our fully equipped baking marquee, 12 baking stations, top quality appliances, 90 minutes of baking fun, a professional baker leading the way and one winning pair.

JOB SUMMARY:

​

We are seeking a Digital & Social Media Content Creator who loves baking and creating super fun and engaging short form videos and imagery to support our social growth and marketing. You’ll be a primary face of our socials, be the businesses go-to person for creating great quality, viral baking and promotional content that keeps our followers engaged and grows our audience. You will have creative freedom to explore new trends and content that is both educational and entertaining for our combined, growing audience of 80k. 

 

You’ll be working as part of our small but mighty, super supportive central team with our Marketing  Manager and Lead Designer to come up with fresh, fun ideas across all our channels and engaging, exciting campaigns to launch new venues across the UK, which you will need to occasionally travel to. You’ll collaborate with our brilliant Head Bakers, interact with customers and engage with influencers. You’ll be keeping The Big Bakes right on trend, and create internal and external digital marketing content. We’re looking for someone with passion, dedication and acute organisational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY TASKS:

​

You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following task list:

​

Social media content: 

  • Developing social media strategies with the Marketing Manager with the aim of increasing brand awareness, customer engagement and sales for our existing venues and launching new ones across the UK 

  • Social content planning in line with the marketing calendar, strategy, latest trends and hooks

  • Look after the content calendar, cation writing and scheduling across multiple platforms 

  • Independently execute content filming on-site and editing video and images 

  • Manage social channels, messages and customer engagement and giveaways 

  • Attend, capture and create content at special events and regular customer events

  • Monitor and report monthly on social growth, landscape, engagement, learnings and most importantly, solutions to any problems

Marketing content: 

  • Assisting with marketing content creation, such as internal video content, and video advertising and infographics 

  • Support the launch of new baking venues, with internal, external and social comms content and production shoot assistance 

  • Work with Marketing Manager to host media/ influencer special events and shoots, and create social content

  • Create and launch monthly bake theme content 

 

Monitoring the social landscape: 

  • Lead on influencer engagement

  • Research and execute collaborations and relationships

  • Keep up to date with latest social media industry trends, challenges and distribute this information to the rest of the business 

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

​

  • Have very strong photographic and video editing skills and experience with programmes such as: Adobe inDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and Canva

  • Audio editing skills for VO and music

  • Be familiar with Mac OS

  • Deep knowledge and experience of social media platforms 

  • Proficient in presenting and using filming equipment (lighting, gimble etc) 

  • Experience in creating brand-led social content and social campaigns 

  • Confident to present to camera to create engaging recipe content and instructional videos

  • Ability to capture high impact imagery and video using primarily iPhone - or camera

  • Passion for baking (whether self taught and enthusiastic or trained) - ability to bake very neatly and aesthetically for videos and imagery

  • Willingness to get stuck in, try new things and work with different people across the company and build strong relationships 

  • In-person media event experience with press and influencers 

  • Excellent at problem solving, time management and organisation 

  • Excellent networking skills 

  • Courageous in putting forward ideas

  • Keen eye for detail and proactive in learning from other brands and companies  

  • Continually assessing competition and taking learnings from other brands and campaigns

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

​​

  • 1 or 2 years experience minimum, in a social media role or marketing role in house or agency. Relevant academic qualifications desired but not necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

​

  • Five GCSEs at Grades A*-C or 9 – 4 (including English & Maths)

​

SALARY & HOURS OF WORK:

​

Full time, 5 days a week (37.5 hours) 

Salary from: £32,500
